Working on end of the semester print and image orders for Fred Masters and various senior dancers. This was the first shoot out of almost a decade of shooting for these folks where someone took a tumble. I think everyone was relieved when the dancer shook it off.

I’m just wrapping up ( I think) this years Bay Area Glass Institute Auction Catalogue. A whirlwind of 2 full days of shooting and one studio minimum night, looks great though. 18 hours 67 pieces 69 final images.

Once again we have begun the BAGi Auction Catalogue shooting. We went through about 30 pieces in day one ranging from jewelry size up to 7 feet tall. A huge variety of works.

Dance Shoot

I love doing photography for the dancers. I enjoy their camaraderie with one another and the challenge of catching a motion at its peak. One of the unfortunate realities of these shoots is that they occur in such a compressed time frame. We usually shoot after a performance and so it is late at night. There is little time for experimentation or tweaking lighting to obtain best individual results.Still it is great fun. from our last shoot, this is on eof the more dramatic images. I got the normal image (which was beautiful) and then kicked off one of the main fill lights to get a more dramatic modeling of the two dancers at the top of their movement.

Twas a busy weekend of shooting, post production and trying to get over this hideous cold I came down with last week (it just keeps giving and giving). Got to do some images for the talented Charlotte Kruk at the crack of dawn the other day. 294 total images edited down to 10 picks. After scrutinizing all the images we were both a little bleary eyed. I love her work and the challenge of shooting it. Its construction makes it a challenge both for photographer and for the models. Keay3.net my long languishing site has been updated. My old site had served me well and for a long time, but was certainly showing its age. I will be adding further functionality in the coming days, but the main bits are here.
